The Charter

This charter serves to make sure all development is on the same page, and that everyone has a clear understanding of the project goals and ideas.

The power 19

The Power 19 is a set of questions devised by Socrates RPG to answer what makes an RPG. It is the skeleton upon which the game is built.

1.) What is your game about?

The players are members of The Foundation, and the game follows their adventures in securing, containing, and protecting anomalous entities from being unleashed on the world. Their choices should have tangible impact on lives and the future, as well as leave open, disturbing questions about their situations that never get answered.

2.) What do the characters do?

Acting on orders from higher-ups, they might do field operations. Or they might be assigned to investigate a new SCP. Or they might investigate an intra-Foundation conspiracy. Or they might be thrown into a containment breach situation and have to help contain an entity. There's room for lots of different kinds of situations and styles of play.

3.) What do the players (including the GM if there is one) do?

Respond to the situation using research materials onhand, including available containment logs—but for the most part they won't have a lot of knowledge of ALL the SCPs, for obvious reasons. The players and GM also establish their canon together ahead of time.

14.) What sort of product or effect do you want your game to produce in or for the players?

15.) What areas of your game receive extra attention and color? Why?

16.) Which part of your game are you most excited about or interested in? Why?

17.) Where does your game take the players that other games can’t, don’t, or won’t?

18.) What are your publishing goals for your game?
